The Red Cross is housing 19 families, and at least 80 people were receiving shelter in the Burnsville High School gym Monday night. If you would like to donate to the victims of the fire, please send money to the Red Cross.
The Goodman Group, which manages the property, has collected $100,000 in donations to help the victims and is collecting donations from the public as well.
The Red Cross is also supplying people with eyeglasses and prescription drugs which they may have lost in the fire.
The Burnsville Bantam B1 club hockey team is at Cub Foods on Tuesday to collect money, food and Christmas gifts for the residents affected by Monday night’s fire at the Burncliff Apartments. There are several ways to help the victims of the Burncliff Apartment fire.
The Twin Cities chapter of the American Red Cross is asking for money to help fire victims. You can make a donation by going to their website or by calling 612-460-3700.
People can drop off household items and furniture at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 13801 Fairview Dr. in Burnsville. Donations are being accepted at Entrance J. It will be open Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers say they are in need of hygiene items and undergarments. Fire victims can also go to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church to pick up donated items too.
The Goldman Group, which manages the complex, has also created a fund for the victims. And already $100,000 has been raised. If you you'd like to donate to that fund, contact the Goodman Group at (952) 361-8000.
Anyone interested in offering housing for the fire victims can contact Housing Link. Their phone number is 612-522-2500.
"The JOY in my heart isn't from the world, and nothing in the world can take it away." (from a Gospel song by Shirley Ceaser. We are so blessed! In the True Spirit of Christmas, how awesome to proclaim what we got 'from' Christmas, rather than what we got 'for' Christmas. Peace, Joy and Love every day, Patti
