Deja Vu All Over Again

Well, the other shoe has fallen.  My surgeon, Dr. Kelly, called my house yesterday but I wasn't home to take the call.  I got a hold of him at 8:30 this morning and was told that the final pathology was positive for cancer cells.  I will be going back in to United on Tuesday to have the other side removed and plan for the radioactive iodine.  I will take this as just another bump in the road to good health.

The weird thing about it is that the same thing happened when my ovarian cancer was diagnosed 5 years ago.  We were just talking about that at dinner last night as Friday (December 26) is the 5th anniversary of completing treatment.

Life goes on and I will keep my chin up!

Kim-
Thanks for the words of encouragement.  Right now the only help I require is positive vibes and pryers.  I truly believe in the power of prayer!

See you soon,
Reenie

I am so sorry to hear this. With your strength and endurance through life, I think this is just a bump, as you said, and you will get to the other side of that bump in no time!

Reenie!  So sad to hear about having to go back in for the rest.  They should just take it all!  I go back on my iodine free diet on the 12 of January and then back to the hospital for scanning the week of the 26th.  Hopefully, I'll be done and declared cancer free!

If you need help with the iodine free diet or anything, please call me!

Prayers for you!
Edi

Sorry Reenie!  You sure have been put through your share of health trials.  I hope this is the last of them, your treatment goes smoothly and you have a very healthy and happy 2009.  You sure are strong & it's so great how positive you are.

Reenie,

I am keeping you in my prayers.  I am really encouraged to hear your positive attitude in your post.  It might be easy to be down and out, but not you.  That attitude will get you through ANYTHING!  If there is ever anything I can do or you need a friend to talk to, please let me know!  Hugs!

Thank you everyone.  I will be keeping my chin up and taking this one on head on!!

Edi-  I will be using you as a resource as I move on to the next phase of treatment.  I'm not sure of the time table yet, but you can know that I will be asking about it next week.!!

Have a Merry Merry Christmas everyone!!
