OT: Looking for a roommate

Hey all you fantastic losers!
I'm not able to post much anymore because of my new job, but I do try and lurk when I can. I feel so behind now - everyone is moving forward so fast and so many one-year anniversaries have come and gone and many other WOW moments - congrats to you all!
Now...for the other reason I posted! In an effort to save some money and pay off some bills, I'm looking to get a roommate. I live just Southwest of Burnsville Mall. My place is small and I have pretty much enough furniture for the entire place, so the person would need just what they would want in their bedroom - but some of that could be negotiable. The person would also need to be a non-smoker and be okay with a tempermental 5-year old male Chihuahua. I can have one other dog under 20 lbs as long as the two dogs would get along. I currently have two birds, but am thinking of finding them a new home - they just don't get enough attention.
Anyway, if you or someone you know might be interested, send me a PM. I will want some references just for some reassurance. Also, I've never rented to anyone before, so I have no idea what to do legally - if you have any advice, please let me know...i.e., do I report on taxes, should I draw up some sort of a lease, etc.
