Happy 1 Year Kelly F!
Way to go Kelly! You rock!!
Who is the crazy lady who had surgery on New Years Eve? Yeah, that would be me. What a way to ring in the new year. On an IV drip of morphine.
This year has brought me many, many, many positive things. There are the obvious things - such as looking better on the outside, feeling better on the inside, emotionally at a place I've never been, sky rocketing self confidence, energy, guts, friends, best of friends, support, etc. And there were many unexpected things that are not so good. But I'm ok with that. And it is only because I'm now happy with myself that I see other challenges in my life.
In the year post WLS, I have:
- Lost 123 lbs
-Gone from a size 24 to a size 4
-Gained The BEST of friends
-Hit my goal weight at 6 months (150 lbs)
-Maintaining a healthy weight (139 lbs)
-Ditched the glasses, now wearing contact lenses
-Found the long legs that I never knew existed
-What are collar bones?
-I can wrap my thumb and middle finger around my wrist and still have lots of space
-gained confidence in myself beyond anything I ever thought possible
-Able to look at myself in the mirror and say "I am BEAUTIFUL"
-I can wrap a normal size towel all the way around my body
-I can fit in the bath tub and have LOTS of extra space
My only wish is that I would have done this years ago. But it is what it is.
Ok, and the other wish is that I wouldn't have gone from a bra size 46C to a 32A (and an A is very generous, let me tell you) I need silicone boobies now!
2009 will be even better for me. I have started writing again. And for those of you who know me, that is HUGE! I'm in the process of writing a book that I hope will inspire others to step up and have the courage to change. In my quirky sense of humor!
Thanks to everyone who has touched my life. Those who I've met, those who I've chatted online with. Those who were there to listen to me gripe and complain about not being able to eat cold stone creamery cheesecake ice cream with fudge and heath bars. Those who traveled with me. Those who have danced with me. I love you ALL!!!!!!
Many hugs, much love!
