1 Year Update
My 1 year surgiversary was on Dec 18th 2008. It's been a wild and crazy year. Went to Abbott for my check-up with Dr. Leslie and everything is PERFECT. I was within 2 ounces of my last weigh in 3 months ago. Labs are great, attitude is great, no transfer addictions (already had the handbag and shoe thing going before WLS) LOL and am feeling fab! Went from a 22-24 to a 4-6 and a small in most tops. I can now shop anywhere and be comfortable trying things on. Still pick up clothes and look at them and think.....that looks to small but try it on and it fits. I am just now seeing myself as thin and look at pictures and see a person I still don't recognize.
My grand baby Sascha got a little Dora tent for Christmas and she and I went into her Dora house and read some books and colored. 1 year ago the body would have never fit in the little pop up tent but it was just fine now. Guess this was my WOW moment
Life for me has certainly changed in the last year. Lost my weight at 6-7 months and have been maintaining since then. I would be lying if I told you that once you lose the weight it is easier because the hard work has just begun. My weight fluctuates 3-5 pounds but when it hits that 5 pounds I'm in a panic and back on program. I find that carbs are still my bodies enemy. I can eat anything I want, but if I don'****ch those bad boys I struggle maintaining. I know it will all come together but it is not easy. I don't know if I would have been successful without the wonderful support I have received from all you folks. I haven't been posting lately but do try to read whenever I get a chance. Work has been crazy so I come home and just veg. Thanks to all of you for the inspiration and support. Special thanks to Barb K and Lindaanne.
Love to all of you and Have a Happy New Year!

There you are -- I posted on the 18th a happy surgiversary to you and you weren't on. Last time I saw you, you look fabulous darling, simply fabulous. And sooooo happy -- you've come a long way baby!!!
Come to a coffee!!!! Eagan is this Saturday and it's only 23 miles!!! Missing your face!!!
Everytime my grandson passes your house, he says "wave to amma's friend". We've been going to Miller's every Tuesday to play bingo -- unless it snows!!! So maybe you can come up there to join us.

Bonnie, you've done a fantastic job. So fun to hear that you are enjoying your new life. We'll have to talk about maintenance one of these days, I'm close and I know you've said you struggle with it so I would love to hear your ideas. Hope to see you at a MG coffee again.
