i have signed up for a 6 week session of yoga, still have to pay, so i can back out I am not very coordinated or fit or flexible or social and can think of so many reasons not to do it and none to do it, other than maybe I will like it ..I am still overweight and am not sure if overweight people even do Yoga, do they?

has anyone taken Yoga classes and enjoyed it?

I have done Yoga!   You know Yoga is a very quiet class.  I would not worry about the social end of it as people seem to really focus on themselves.  You will impove your flexability.  They are really good at giving options for the different levels.  I'd say Go For It!!!!!!!!

I have done yoga, and absolutely loved it!!!  Of course, at first, I worried about being overweight and trying to fold myself into a pretzel.  But, like Lisa said, it's quiet and you don't socialize.  I found it extremely relaxing and was there for no one else, but me!  I couldn't do some of the poses, but then was shown alternatives that would give me the same benefit.  I even found at times that I had more flexibility than some people who weighed 100 lbs. less than me!  I loved how I felt after yoga...so relaxed and more limber while anxiety and stress went out the door.

Give it a shot...at least you can say you tried it!!!

Shannon from PNMC group used to go to "BIG ASS YOGA" in Minneapolis.  You could do a class there and see if you like it first.  Here is a link talking about the instructor starting the class.  And all in class are overweight.

IT'S A NEW YEAR -- GO FOR IT!!!!  If you are unsure about paying for six weeks ahead of time, only to find that you maybe won't like it, ask the to participate in one class to see if you like it.  They WILL let you.

I went to a "regular" class at Lifetime Fitness with a friend and loved it but I have pins in my feet and cannot (and never will be able to) do the moves properly.  But it really works your core and I can see why they are buff!!  It really works you out....
