After ringing in the new year at United I was released around 12:00 noon today.  The surgery went well, and I will get the final pathology reports back either Friday or Monday.  The doc said he didn't see anything that looked overly concerning.  I am so glad to be able to get back to my normal life!!

I did have one WLS trauma at the hospital.  When they weighed me on Wednesday morning (about 15 hours post-op) I had gained 7 pounds!!  I mellowed out today when 6 of those pounds disappeared again.  The nurse then told me that they had been dripping dextrose (sugar) and sodium (salt) because I hadn't eaten anything all day and my surgery had been delayed.  I also had the nurses amazaed at how much I enjoyed walking around the unit!!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Yay Reenie...glad you're outta there!!!  Good to hear Dr. Kelly didn't see anything too crazy.  I've been thinking about you and wondering how you were, then saw your post.  Are you going to make it to coffee on Saturday?  Let me know if you need a ride or anything!

Happy New year, Reenie!!!

Yeppers, those fluids - ugh - I think I gained 15 after surgery. TG it's all gone now, but aye aye aye...hard to wrap your mind around it at the moment.

kudos on getting sprung, hun.   and on getting back to your normal life.  so when you ring in the new year in the hospital do they do anything special?  turn over a new sheet?  hand out any 'party' pills?  use rubber gloves blown up like balloons?  JK
hope you enjoy your return to freedom and good luck with the test results.
take it easy
