Adriannamae-Kelly D! One Year Ago Today.....
One year ago today you rolled into the hospital, set to change your life. After having surgery, your new life began. And just as many of us, you traveled the path that had many, many steep hills.
Congratulations on reaching this milestone! It has been such a pleasure having you by my side during our journey. Little did I know that I'd end up making some of the best friends along the way. Those who not only know me inside and out. But those who have been there for me during thick and thin. Up and down. Crazy, wacky, terrified.
Look back at what you have accomplished. So many things, so little time to go through each of them. You've lost most of your excess weight. You have become incredibly healthy. You are strong. You are sexy. You broke out of your shell and taken on new challenges. And the best of all? You are an amazing cheerleader for those who are just beginning their journey. A true gem.
My wish for you in 2009 is to continue on the path to a healthy lifestyle. I would love to pitch your scale out the window. But I'll let it be - for now! Just always remember that you've gone through this metamorphasis to get yourself on a path to leading a healthy life. Everything else is just frosting on the cake. Sugar free, of course.
I won't lie. There will be challenges down this path. But use the confidence you've gained and fight each challenge til the end. This is your life to fight for. And you need not be accountable to anyone but yourself. So remain healthy. Remain happy. Get out and dance. Shake that booty. Enjoy your life. Enjoy your family. Enjoy your friends. Because you, girl, have earned every minute of it.
Many hugs, love, smooches, and warm thoughts your way on this cold, bitter day. Keep up the good work. And many congrats for surviving year #1!!!
