If you are struggling, what are you struggling with?
Love your new pic Kristi!!!
Do you space your calcium apart by two hours? Or how do you take them?
Never hesitate to post a topic! You could just be the one to put into words what someone else was thinking at the moment or struggling with or loving, etc. but didn't get to posting it. This is as much your board as it is anyone elses!
If there is ever a topic posted or comment made and you're not sure what it's all about, feel free to ask or send a PM for clarification. Sometimes it's necessary if the info seems to be confusing. No such thing as a dumb question, right?!
Keep posting - we wanna watch ya melt!

Thanks Amy!
I figured it was time for a new pic, and I don't hate having them taken so much anymore!
Yes I take my calcium every 2 - 2.5 hours. I think that is the frustrating part for me since I feel like I am always popping pills!
Thanks for the support and encouragement, it is a wonderful thing!
Kristi
My biggest problem is accountability. Its been a long time since my surgery and I just don't follow the rules like I should. I've dealt with a lot of personal issues since then, but am running out of excuses. Once my next surgery is out of the way I won't have any excuses left and that really scares me.
My mantra for a long time was, I have plenty of excuses ~ none of them are any good...so I know where you are coming from.
If I can offer a suggestion ..it is to make one change at a time and once you are doing that well, think of something else you know you need to do better and change the way you are doing that....
It could be drinking water. Don't start with trying to get in 64oz straight away, try for one or 2 cups (or whatever you can do).
Vitamins - start with getting your multi everyday for a bit, then add your calcium, then add something else until you have them all. You could also see your PCP or WLS surgeon to get some labs done so you know exactly what you need to take or take more of.
I am not saying these are your issues, but I think rather than trying to fix everything at once which can be really overwhelming, just focus on once thing at a time until you can do that out of habit or close to

Well, Tina, I cannot wait for you to be out of excuses!
As for accountability, do you post to the grads forum? That seems like a good board to be on the further out you are! People are hungry for you knowledge when you're years out.
Keep us posted on your girl parts surgery!! I am wishing you all the best.

Amy love the post! You are very insightful and always have good stuff to share. Thank you.
Good for you for listening to your body about the food and backing down a little. You may fine that you need to do this from time to time with the different stages!! Wishing you all the best.
I have been thinking a lot lately about support and supporting others who are pre-op and post-op wondering how can I be a better support to others on the boards and those I meet off the boards. (I'm welcome to suggestions)
I have a great support system that I'm so grateful for and I just want others to experience that support too. As we travel through this process I think its so important to receive and give support. There are ups and downs in this journey and to have someone who "gets it" is such a great blessing.

Ha! I'm not sure that's true, but thanks Angela!
I think you'll find your place with support and you will feel it when it's right. That's an awesome thing to strive for - being supportive of others. So easy to keep the current system we have but the challenge is to take in newbies sometimes.
Keep on rockin'!

Some days are so hard. Today was hard. I had a day where I just plain missed eating until I was happy getting all the flavors of anything I wanted. It's easy to say, I just can't have that....but some days, the will to fight it just isn't there. :O(
Days like this are very scary. I know everything I need to remember......don't graze is the biggest thing I need to keep away from. The only way I can get in all that I , is if I graze. :O(
I do know that eating will be a lifelong issue for me that II have to deal with and can't ignore. I am no doubt about it and overeater. I charted what I ate today on the daily plate and it was so sad to see. :O(
The good news is I always get 100 0z of water in or more a day. I always take all my vitamins and suppliments.

Lisa Joy - are you saying that you're human?! OMG! haha, just kidding
Do you know why you graze? Are you grazing because you're skipping meals? I believe I have heard that is the biggest reason we graze after surgery. The old diet mentality is to skip meals, but that is not the case after we have WLS.
And if you're not getting enough variety in your daily eating, you are going to crave certain tastes/textures. I learned that long ago back in HS Home-Ec class. I wonder if it holds true after surgery.
And how awesome is it that you get in 100 oz. of water per day & all your vits/supps?! That is just plain awesome!!!
