Liquid vitamins and calcium question
So I am only out a few days. I am having a hellof a time getting water in, Ill guess maybe 60 if Im lucky, and the boost doesnt sit well either. But the worst is the vitamins and calcium! I get very sick when I try to take them. Now is this a after surgery thing I shouldnt worry about, or should I look into getting liquid? If I should look into getting liquid does anyone else use it? ANd where is a good place online to oder it? Im not feeling the best so going shopping right nows not an option for me!
I really appreciate the advice here!

I take chewable calcium, It's called Twin Lab citrus chews. I buy them at Cub, but they are way cheaper on the internet.......
And I take chewable Flinstones complete vitamins.......
Otherwise all other vitamins are in pill form, I had to cut mine up after surgery for a few months......
Good luck. Kelly

I tried a liquid vitamin a few years ago called Vibe. I couldn't stand the taste and tossed it. You might want to try the chewable calcium Kelly D mentioned. Bariatric Advantage has a chewable vitamin sample kit you can buy. Has different flavors of several vitamins, see here: http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog/itemHandler?id=116 3
Does your program suggest Boost as a protein drink? I thought that was one that had alot of sugar in it -is that maybe why you're not tollerating it very well?
It's all a learning experience finding things that work for you in so many areas that are important: protein, getting enough liquids and the vitamins. I'd be interested to know what you find works for you either in chewable or liquid vitamins.

I do all chewable vitamins at this point. I did flinstones for a while, but have since switched to a grown up chewable that tastes like oranges sort of. The only liquid I do is b12.
I hadn't tried the liquids just because when I was looking they were more expensive.
Very early out everything made me feel sick, even toothpaste! I had to go with a cinamin (which I normally don't like), but anything minty...yuck!
So, definitely call your doctor, but in reality tough love for yourself is needed. You'll feel gross, but it passes and you need the vitamins!

Hi Darren,
I am 8 months out and I still have a little bit of trouble with getting all the water in, and in the beginning it really made my stomach/pouch hurt. Warm drinks were a little better so I tried tea, and would have some Carnation Instant Breakfast as hot choc. in the evenings. I just did the best I could and I was fine. I took chewable Flinstone vitamins in the beginning, but again, if they make you sick, it will be ok if you don't take them for a few days. I promise that you will feel better and better as each day passes. And, I never did take any calcium. I drink a protein shake every morning made with milk, eat cheese, yogurt and cottage cheese regularly and my calcium levels are just fine. I order my vitamins from Bariatric Advantage online and they are great!! They are chewable, taste great, and go down just fine. I also take their B-12 sublingual and their iron. I just had blood work and everything was terrific! Hang in there--you will be feeling better soon!
