Chewable vs non chewable vitamin

Is there any reason to take a chewable vitamin, other than it works for those who have trouble swallowing pills?  Do they absorb better than a pill? If not, I don't have pill issues, I'm switching to a pill instead.

Okay, this may sound hokey as all get out, but to me, the orange chewable Centrum is kinda like a sweettart or some lil' treat!  Same with Viactive, although I do a Viactive AND a dose of Citracal each day.  I don't have an answer to the absorption question, tho...

I might have to try the chewable centrum, that sounds yummy.  I don't like the Flintstones and tried the Citrical petites and found them super easy to swallow.

I am a year out and still prefer the chewable centrum. Plus it absorbs better because it's chewable.

Thanks Jennifer.  That's what I was wondering- about the absorbsion.  I'll have to try them.  What do you do for calcium?

Viactiv chewable 3 times a day after meals. Carmel is my favorite.

29lbs is fantastic since surgery, good for you!  I'm trying to weigh once a week and will probably wait until Wed to do it again.  Congrats on having such a huge loss already!

This was my nurse's opinion, as she states there isn't enough actual medical research to know for sure, but....

She feels that a liquid or chewable is better since we don't absorb all we ingest anymore.  A liquid or a chewable doesn't take as long to enter your system as a pill that has to sit somewhere and dissolve and then be absorbed.

Made sense to me!
