My stepmom gets them in her hips and it takes anywhere from two to four days to get relief.

OUGH!! Can't imagine the hips!!! Today is better~ I don't feel the need to go the the ER anyway! They did tell me it would be painful for the first day or two........SLOWLY better! THANKS!!

Yikes! It will be interesting to see what your primary says you can do. I don't have any experience with cortizone shots, so unfortunately no suggestions. I do like the 2 glasses of wine, thought! I hope our pain goes away soon.

I used to get them in my knee, hips, and shoulder....they were the pitts!! There isn't much you can do....it will pass.

I switched to SYNVISC for my knee and have no pain anymore. They really work!! They aren't nearly as painful either and last a lot longer.
