Nsaids Question

I went to the Dr yesterday (PCP) and before I left she gave me some samples of Celebrex. Am I right in remembering that after RNY we aren't supposed to take NSAIDS? She first wanted me to take ibuprofen and I knew not to do that one. I didn't realize the clebrex was an NSAID until I got home. Just wanting to see if anyone knows so I can give her a call back. I don't know if it is or not, but usually if you google the drug name and it gives you all the details, it will reference it as an NSAID if it is. Or, call the Pharmacy.

Thank you....I did know it was an nsaid but wasn't sure if we were supposed to take them. I am calling this morning to see if there's something else she can give me. Thanks for the help!!

If you don't mind sharing, what did she prescribe it for? I'm really strugging with cramps since getting my IUD "installed" just before my RNY and am DYING without Advil. My back is killing me, so is my knee, all stuff I took Advil for. Tylanol does NOTHING for me. I'd be interested to know what she gives you, I assume you want something anti -inflam, but then I think that makes it an NSAID. UGh!

I went in with all over body aches. She did some blood tests yesterday but was hoping this would give me some relief. I get these aches off and on....like every month or two. Usually they last for a few days but this time it's just hanging on. She was suspecting maybe arthritis but not sure yet till tests come back. Tylenol is not touching this for me either....I just want a little relief. I can't move without hurting very badly. Not very easy with a 2 yr old to chase.

I feel much like you. I was diagnosed with Juvinille Rhumatoid Arthritis when I was 19 and was on medication until 4 years ago when I got pregnant. When off during the pregnancy and have been feeling fine since, until the past few months. Lauren just turned 1 and started walking, so I hear you on the chasing the baby thing. I hope she gives you something that helps, because I'd be interested to know what works for you so I can ask for the same. :-)

Thank you soooo much for all of your replies. At first I started thinking the Dr was nuts for thinking arthritis because I always thought that was a joint issue and my joints don't hurt just my muscles do. I'm waiting for a call back from the Dr to see if there's anything else she can give me to try. I'll let you know if we find something that works.

My Doctor says NO NSAID's........I would call the Dr. back and see if they can give you something else.....

Thanks, Kelly!! I was thinking the same thing. I need to call to get the results of my blood work anyway. I'll ask for something different.
