Sleep Question?????

So on another board here, they asked a "how's your sleep" question.  I was surprised to see how many have replied already that have trouble getting to sleep and/or staying asleep!!  (I am one of them)

If I don't take a sleep aid all I do is toss and turn... I know that I had a hysterectomy B4 WLS and once in a while had sleep issues but now it's more regular

Is this WLS related?  Hysterectomy related? Combo? Guys~ do you have issues with sleep(that will help me rule out Hyster)????

Input for curiousity kills the cat!!!
Thanks& Hugs

Hey there,  I have a hard time sleeping lately and thats just because of all the stress in my life.  My Dr. gave me a pill that I take before bed and it takes about 1/2 hour and I'm out and I am out for the whole night.  I feel alot better....... Hope you find something or figure out what will help......
Hugs to you,
Marsha

I sleep like a baby!! I'm a very sound sleeper too. I have not noticed any change with my sleep. However I can not take a nap for the life of me.

Wishing you some restful nights!!
God Bless, Angela

I never had sleep issues until I became technically Obese in my 20's......now when I was just "overweight" in my teens and lower I slept WELL!!  And might add required alot of sleep too! Still kinda do require more then the average bear
And thanks for the compliment!
Hugs

I have issues with sleep as well.  Mine goes in cycles it seems.  For many weeks I can fall asleep and sleep through the night.  Others I toss and turn so Ambien CR is my friend for a few nights.  Not sure what it is about though.  I was having issues before WLS last year.
I hope you have a restful night tonight!!!

Sandie:

I sleep soundly, but only 5 or 6 hours/night.  I can go weeks with 4-5 hours/night sleep.  I have been this way since I was a little kid....I used to get the newspaper in the morning when I was 7 or 8 and was half done reading by the time my dad got up in the morning.  The only sleep change related to WLS for me is that my wife says I don't snore very much any more.

I used to have occasional bouts with insomnia when I was anxious about something, but that hasn't happened since I cut simple carbs out my diet during my pre-surgery weight loss program.  I don't really know if those two things are related, but the only other explanation I can think of is that this past year I have chosen to focus on my own needs first most of the time and there may be peace of mind for me as a result.

Good luck,

RP
