How frightening and painful for the two of you.  Thank god it was not worse.  Best wishes for quick healing.

I'm sorry that you and Sadie had to go through this trauma.  I'm glad you went to the ER for treatment and antibiotics.
My thoughts and hopes for fast and painfree healing are headed your way.

Michelle and Beautiful Sadie,

OWIE is all I can say. Knowing that Nemi is about 1 week older than Sadie I can imagine how uncomfortable she would be.

Keep the wounds really clean, her skin is so soft, she should not even have a mark.  I would definitely keep the kitty, just a learning experience for Sadie.

Take Care,

Wow - I'm so sorry this happened!  There IS such a thing as "cat scratch fever", so be extra careful about keeping the wounds clean, and if there's any sign of infection, be sure to get it looked at.  My hubby was actually hospitalized once for this, was in danger of having to lose his knuckle!

As for the cat, I would never recommend that anyone get rid of an animal that was having an extreme reaction to an unusual situation like that, but I WOULD suggest you be especially gentle with him for a while, and pay close attention to how Sadie reacts to him.  She could be traumatized by the event, and have a fear that wouldn't be healthy for her OR the cat.  So just give it some time.

Take care, heal well!

Thanks hun!  We were told to watch very closely for any signs of infection and are doing so.  We've been very gentle with the cat and surprisingly Sadie is not afraid at all.   We're just sitting back and spending time together.  At least there is something good to come of it lol.
