Farrah, help me here!!! Stalling...
You have a good explanation of what a stall is and isn't.
Well on the Dec. surgery board, I just feel like saying it out load to this woman who is complaining of a stall at just 3 weeks out of surgery. I know she's feeling disappointed that she didn't see a loss yet this week, but in my mind, it's not a true stall.
How do you explain it to someone that new out of the gates?

IMO, A true 'stall' would be when you havent lost weight OR inches.
This early in the game, ones body still is pushing through all the fun stuff they loaded ya up with during surgery and it will continue to wreek havoc on the bod for a month.
Keep in mind that our bodies need to play catch up from drastic weightloss. If you dont see it on the scale, more than likely you will see it on the tape..
WE all know the excitement of watching the scale drop, however it will drive one nuts it we obsess about it... I know... I did...!!
Hope I was helpful... I know I wasnt Farrah....

Here's the explaination I've always received about stalls. Either you're losing weight, or you're losing inches. You don't do both at once. A plateau is where you don't lose either weight or inches for an entire month.
Tell her to throw away her scale as she's making herself crazy!
How are you doing, my friend?
