Latte's

If you are a fan of latte's or other beverages from the likes of Starbucks/Caribou, do you add these to your daily intake - do you count them as a snack or part of your liquid intake?

And if you do, do you log on FitDay or DailyPlate or SparkPeople (or other food tracking software)?

Since surgery, I have not indulged in a caffeinated beverage but wonder how others utilize them in their post surgery meal plan.

I know there is protein to be counted but when I look at the nutrition value, I guess I'd rather down a protein shake for less carbs and more protein bang for my buck. Just wondering how else to utilize them...

Thanks in advance for sharing your plan!

I count mine as my liquid intake.  Seriously though I don't count mine towards anything; I have never liked breakfast so I have a caribou coffee every morning and some nights when I will have another caribou I eat VERY little supper or no supper at all.  (I know BAD)

Since I always have a good amount of skim milk in my coffee at home or order some type of SF Skim Latte out, I count it as milk/liquid.

I always order the Northern Lights latte's at Caribou - FF and SF.  (At Dunn, it's just a FF/SF latte.)   The milk in my latte's is about the only milk I get !  But I don't count it as a liquid - I still get at least my 64 oz in above and beyond the latte.

Can't wait to have you join us, Amy baby!!!

i track it on daily plate - i count the protein in the milk, i count it as liquid, I count it as my breakfast.   I also try and make some at home with a protein shake instead of milk and add the coffee - i have been doing that about 3 days a week - adds more protein and less cost :)

Do you count the calories and the carbs, too?

I absolutely love me a Starbucks Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte! YUMOS!! I have one maybe 2-3 times a week. The large one has 160 Calories 24 Carbs and 15 grams of protein. I do count it in for my calories for the day. Normally I use it as a meal. It took me a while to drink these after surgery. To me the protein drinks do get old after a while.

I only think about my Latte's in terms of calories, I don't count it towards liquids or protein

I love my sugar-free soy latte. The soy is a little worse than fat-free milk, but I often get lactose-intolerant so I stick with soy.

I count it as a part of my beverage (but I drink 2x as much water for every caffeine drink)... and count the calories and carbs.
