My Seattle Support Group Meeting
Well, I attended my first Seattle support group meeting tonight. I found a group located in Everett (near my apartment and my work) that meets once a month. I picked up a lot of new nutrition information from the group that I want to look further into. They spent some time "indoctrinating" me on the importance of getting the right kind and right amount of protein in. They discussed a few products tied to protein intake and also low-carb cooking that I wanted to run by you all in warm, balmy Minnesota. Can you let me know if you have ever heard of any of these products? If you have, please provide your feedback. Thanks in advance for your help!
Protein:
- Oh Yeah! Protein Shake (Lactose Free)
- Oh Yeah! Wafer Bars
Low Carb Cooking:
- Carbquick Bake Mix

Good for you, getting to a support group. It will be interesting to hear what info you get there. I have heard of the Oh Yeah! products but never tried them. Never heard of the bake mix. Keep us posted.

omgosh, Oh Yeah! Wafer Bars are like heaven in a packet! I love the choc mint and choc/choc. They aren't for everyone, but better than a candy bar IMO
Are you near Puyallup? I think that's where michelle of vitalady.com lives. She's a great person (I met her this past summer) and she knows ALOT about living as a post op.
The Oh Yeah (brand is ISS Research) peanut butter wafer bars are my fave! Love love love them!!!
I purchase them online in a case because they are cheaper IMO.

Here's another one I like which I use to make gravies with.

I see the CarbQuick on here, too - but I personally have not used that yet.
