I had WLS Dec 18 2008 and I havent lost lots of weight just about 15 pounds dont know if thats normal. I have read on here that people have lost 50 pounds in a month. Should there be something I should be doing or eating? Can someone help me??

Hi.  I was hoping/expecting to lose 30lbs in the first month, but ended up losing 22.  I think the more water you can drink the better. Lately I've been lucky to get in 48oz, and the more protein the better, I think my numbers there lack too.  Am trying to improve both every day.  How are you doing with those two things?

Don't fret - 'results may vary'... and they do because each of us is so different. The weight will come off... just follow the rules and be patient. Lots of things matter... which surgery you got, your starting weight, genetics, age, etc.

I agree, just do what your nut and dr advises you. I know that everyone has in the back of their mind "is this going to work?"  But it will. I am 8 month out and still think that. But if your doing what  your suppose to it will work out great for you

Had you gained weight from all the IV fluids and such at your first post-op appointment?  I had - LOTS!  And I was disgusted, and mad, and disappointed, you name it.

But then at my one month (and I never weighed myself EXCEPT at the clinic for the first whole year!), I had lost that fluid weight and a whole bunch more!

Do yourself a favor - do NOT become obsessed with the scale.  In fact, PUT IT AWAY.  We women can see significant fluctuations in our weight over the course of a single day.  Instead, focus on following your plan - getting that protein and water in, and your weight WILL drop.  I think it's safe to say it's NEVER fast enough!  Until you get a few months out and look back...  or lose your drawers walking down the driveway, or have someone tell you you need to buy some smaller clothes....  it will ALL be worth it!!  All you need is patience and the will to make good choices!
