Fainting spells

Hello,
I am usually a lurking person but wanted to know if anyone has experienced faiting spells or black outs. I am a little over a year out and this has happened several times in the past few months. Last week I had an Endometrial Ablation and had a fainting spell while still at the hopsital. My blood pressure dropped and so did my pulse. The nurse came in and laid me back in the chair I was sitting in and I came to and everything seemed fine after that. Last night I was getting out of the bathtub and felt weak so I laid down on the bathroom floor, my husband came in and was yelling for me to get up. I couldn't get up for quite a while after that, just had the heavy feeling and still light headed. Once I was able to get up I tried to get myself to the couch and on my way there everything went black and I couldn't see where I was going and I fell. My husband said I was only out for a couple of seconds. I DO have an appointment with my family doctor today but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. When I was younger I had these episodes sometimes monthly and was told by doctors that I am just a person who faints??
I do have to admit I have not been taking my vitamins like I should
Thanks for any advise you can give me.

Kim, there's a couple things it could be. None of us can diagnose it. But I would encourage you to read Melting Mama's blog because she has a lot of info on there about fainting and seizures.

The link to her website is on here under her profile pic.

Also, you admitted to not taking your vitamins and the only thing I will say about that is it is NOT a choice. It is for life and you need to recommit to taking them! Keep in mind it's not just something you swallow - your body physically needs the supplementation to keep on! Your heart is a muscle. Enough said.

Good luck at your PCP today, hopefully he/she can help you to find the answers to your fainting. A good panel of labs may be needed, don't rule that out! It would give you answers to how your vitamin levels are too.

Well, the doctor is wondering if it was from my hot bath that I had taken right before I blacked out the first time. He ran some labs, don't have the results yet and he also did an EKG. That came back normal. He is also sending me to get a holter monitor for 24 hours and he feels we can rule out anything cardiac then we will go from there. If it happens again after we rule out cardiac then he will send me to a neurologist.
Amy, thanks for the link to melting Mama's blog.
