Fear--I'm freaking out

I worry about many of those things already and I haven't even had the surgery yet! I think it is normal when someone is making a huge life change. You just have to trust in yourself knowing that there will be ups and downs, but nothing that isn't fixable. That is what I tell myself when I start to really freak out. If I gain a little weight back I will lose it again. I have accepted that there will be small failures but that I will never give up on myself.

Ironically I just looked up and read this statement from my calender..

"Faith is a mover of mountains, there is nothing we cannot achieve if we have the courage to try it and then have the faith to believe."

Just like everyone else has already said what you feel is so normal!  Maybe some of the fear isn't that you will fail but that you will succeed and that your life is going to be different.  When you are losing the weight you don't have food to turn to as comfort so all these anxieties that you maybe use to cover up with eating are going to come out. Perhaps they are coming out now with all these worries.  I know that first month since I couldn't use food I had many obsessive thoughts that were hard to deal with.  Continue what your doing by calling out for support and going to your therapist.  Don't be so worried about failing.  If you follow the rules you will succeed!  Heck I admit I don't follow all the rules and could use more exercise or eat better at times and I still can't believe how far I've come.   Try to relax and enjoy getting to know yourself.  You will find by losing weight your going to discover a lot of things about you that maybe you didn't realize.  Those first 3 months are the hardest but soon you will get past them!!!

I bet that is the number 1 thing most of us were concerned about before surgery.  It is also something I hear from people who say they would like to have the surgery, but that it won't work for them.  What you need is a good dose of FEAR.  Be AFRAID to have sugar.  Be AFRAID to drink pop.  Be AFRAID of overeating. In our case, I think fear can be a good thing.

I can't believe the group facilitator focused on negatives.  Think positively!  You can do it.  You ARE doing it.  Work it, girl.

Maybe you just your hormones adjusted.  As far as being attractive to men - Mr. Right is out there and you don't have to be a size 14 to find him.  Just ask Alayna!!  Before you find him, though, you have to love yourself.  Try working on that, because you have so much to offer
