Near Syncope and Muscle Collapse
Just wondering if anyone has experience near syncope and collapse. Here is what I mean. If you have ever gotten the feeling of blacking out when you stand up too fast, this is what I get ALL the time with a slight delay (happens after I take about 10 steps or so). I start blacking out, than my knee's jerk in and out and I try and catch myself on a counter or couch or something but my arms go completely limp where I have no use of them and I collapse to the ground. I am conscience the whole time, I never completely pass out. When I regain muscle control about 1-2 minutes after I fall to the ground, I get up and my ears feel that someone has stuffed a ton of cotton in my ears so everything is muffled and I can barely hear. Than when that end about 5 minutes later, my head goes completely numb and cold for about 30 seconds than I am fine till the next time I have been sitting for a while and I go to get up. I am used to the black out part, had that for about a dozen or so years. Its the collapse part that is new, 6 times on sunday, 4 times on monday and twice today. Just wondering if anyoen has had this and what helps? My doctors are working on it, they think it is a vitamin or mineral difficiency but don't know for sure so I am looking for any direction to offer them if I can. Thanks

Thanks I appreciate all the prayers I can get. This one is definitely the scariest thing I have had in quite a while. I never know when I will have the collapse part and because I know I am going to hit the ground and I cannot control it, I get scared to get up from sitting and I am afraid to sit at all. At work, I won't sit at break and when I am on the computer, I squat and get up every couple of minutes. THis just sucks. I keep drinking and taking all my vitamins like clock work but nothing has helped as of yet.

Be oh so careful. No matter how many times it happens and even if it seems the same thing and some things insignificant.... write everything down everytime. Your doctors know you have had WLS and are going to look for answers in that for a long time before they think it to be something else. (I work in a clinicn) The doctors don't spend a lot of time any more on any one case unless its a specialist. You really have to push your concerns and most definitally talk to more then one doctor. You need to take charge of your health and let them know they are a tool to help you stay healthy. Sometime the internet can give you too much infomation and get you more worried then helpped. Wish you luck!
Thanks. My doctors are really good at looking at everything since I am a frequent visitor cause I have a number of major health problems that stemmed from having gastic bypass surgery. I have severe gastroparesis with dysmotility of my entire gastrointestinal tract along with severe malabsorption issues so alot of vitamin issues along with borderline type 2 diabetes (they have no clue how I did this one since I did not have it before the surgery). So my doctors are good and I do let everyone of them know about the problems and let them know what each doctor has done or thinks it may be. Thanks for the input and I will write everything down!!!
