OT - Magnesium Citrate after WLS - HELP!!
Hi - I am having surgery tomorrow morning, and have been told to drink 2 - not 1, but 2 bottles of mag cit today at 4 & 5:30. When I had my RNY I drank it but it did nothing - I never emptied. Now I am scared silly of drinking this stuff. Is it fizzy enough t o bother my pouch? Can I sip it so it doesn't? Am I just nervous about having surgery? My husband has decided not to come to the hospital at all & may not come after work., so I feeling abandonned, anyway. My 16 yr old daughter is accompanying me. They will be repairing a couple of prolapses & a rectocele. It will take a couple of hours & 3-4 days in the hospital. Am I over-reacting? Help, please!
Thanks so much!
Laura

Morning Lovely Lady,
Laura,
I don't think there is enough fizziness to bother you. I would put it in the freezer and drink it as cold as possible. Maybe pour 1/2 bottle into a glass at a time. A double dose of that stuff should clean out an elephant and YOU are NOT an elephant
.
Call your surgeon's nurse and talk about your concerns about the mag citrate, they should be able to help.
I will stop by Thursday evening about 7 after my meeting. You will be fine and you will feel so much better after this is done.
Here is a big Nemi, Karen, Marlin, Laurie hug for you. Call me if you need me, give Erin my number so she can call me when you get out of surgery or if she needs someone to talk to. You know I always have my cell with me. I will post for you online Thursday night after surgery.
Love ya,
Karen and the gang
