Staying "Regular"?
I have no doubt people have discussed this before but when I search I always come up with too many hits and it takes me forever to look.
So...if you would...what do you take to "stay regular" since your surgery? My surgeon recommended mineral oil twice a day when I asked him, but I really don't think I can get that down even once, much less two times every day.
I'm a little over 2 months out and still on the soft diet if that helps with the advice. No bran for me yet!
Thank you so much!

I know that I have had to up my fiber ALOT in the last few weeks. You can add it either with caplets, chewables, or powder. It is a sore issue with me. Who knew that a body eating healthy and not a whole lot could produce that much s**T??
I totally agree with you on the mineral oil thoughts. I don't think I could do it either!!

OMG sometimes I feel like an old woman with how many problems I have with
. But the doc recommended Benifiber and I love it! It took a few days to get me 'going' but I eventually did! And the nice thing about Benefiber is that it desolves in the water and there is no taste... basically like it's not even there. I also put it in my coffee.

My miracle is Miralax. It too dissolves completely and it doesn't get thick or gooey. I had used Benefiber but it caused me so much gas I nearly blew the roof off. I tried everything else and nothing really worked for me as well as Miralax does. I do eat Fiber One cereal daily too (the twigs) - if a fiber supplement works for you without blowing yourself out of town, I'd try that first. Otherwise, Miralax is my choice. I've checked with a gastro Dr, and she told me it can be taken indefinitely if needed...it just brings more fluid to the colon, it's not a stimulant like Ex-lax.
Good Luck!
