Sorta Weird Wow

My wife's elderly uncle passed away over the weekend and his funeral was yesterday.  His daughter, my wife's cousin, asked my wife if she wouldn't mind skipping the graveside service so she could go to her cousin's house and set up for a wake/family gathering.  When her cousin arrived home she looked at me and then asked my wife "So, who's this?".  She had absolutely no idea who I was and subsequently seemed terribly embarassed about not recognizing me.  I always wanted to have one of those WOW moments when someone who hasn't seen me in awhile doesn't recognize me at all, but I didn't expect it to happen at a wake.  Weird.

I absolutely LOVE it when someone doesn't recognize me.  I ran into a co-worker at a store and it took several minutes to convince him.  Where I didn't appreciate it was at church when people would give me a visitor's packet every few months....that was annoying.

Sorry to hear of your loss Rick....

So sorry to hear of the death in your family, that's never fun.  But what a cool wow!  Take 'em where you can get 'em, I say!

I had a similar moment yesterday - I had worked at one of the Nature Centers for 7 years before promoting out to my current job.  Well, we had a meeting at that Nature Center yesterday, and one of the naturalist's I had worked with for all those 7 years gave me that "deer-in-the-headlights" look when I arrived.  I took my sunglasses off, and then she said "Oh my God, Darla - I had no idea who you were!"

Yup, you just gotta take 'em where you can get 'em

Way to go, RP... You DO look very different from the man in your before photos, there's no denying it!

That's awesome! I can't imagine the embarrassment that woman felt, lolol But still.... so funny!!! "So who's this?" I love it.

You definitely are the magical shrinking man, so it's no doubt that she didn't recognize you!
