Are you allowed Sugar after Surgery, and how much?
I also get sick on anything in the 8 -12 gram range (or at least that is what I tell myself haven't experimented too much). A lot of people can have sugar and don't get sick. I think it also depends on the food too. For example 1 Reese Peanut butter cup has 7 grams of sugar I would get sick on that but on the other hand I'm sure some fruit has more than 8 grams of sugar and I will eat that with out problems (fresh fruit not canned). I personally believe my success with WLS is limiting the sugar in my diet.

My thoughts on sugar is just don't eat it. Having surgery is about changing your lifestyle/eating habits. Eating those things with high fat and sugar got us to need this surgery. Its so easy once you start to make it something more regular. I honestly do not eat anything that has sugar in it unless its a natural sugar like milk and fruit. I watch labels very careful and will not get anything that as 3-5 or more grams of sugar and/or sugar alcohol per serving.
