DATE! Like a boy-meets-girl-and-goes-out type of date!!

This dude who is an acquaintance of my BIL shows up at the house to pick up the BIL to go to a meeting---and we gets talking and he tells me how much he enjoys dancing. To prove it, he waltzes me around the dining room. Then he says that maybe we could get together sometimes...so today he calls and asks if tomorrow we could go out to dinner and then dancing at the American Legion afterwards.

OOOOOWWEEEEE!! I have not been out on a real date since I don't know how long! Been YEARS! The catch?? Said dude is 74 years old! Like he is in my in-laws age cohort! Mind you--he looks ONLY 60-ish! And like my sister says---we're only going on a date, to have a good time. Is this weird or what?! Dude--otherwise known as "Sergio'--said he's looking for 'companionship'---whatever that means?

I guess I'll let ya know Saturday how things went Friday...

I think you're right--Sergio comes across as quite 'courtly' and respectful. I did warn him to wear steel-toed shoes and shin covers--ballroom dancing was never my forte'!

I do think that this will be a fun time--neither of us has expectations other than this will be a fun evening!

I've been told that age is too over-rated! I just have to get over the fact that this guy is my in-laws' age.....but acts pretty young...
