Interesting tip from surgeon
I had my one year check up a few weeks ago, which went really well (down 115 lbs - I've lost a supermodel), so I asked the surgeon if he had any tips for me other than the usual rules, he told me "don't eat anything off a spoon". My first reaction was "why" and then once he explained it to me it made total sense.
Now you have to remember that I am one year out so the advice is not for people who are doing the first stages after surgery, but for all the others it's a neat trick. When you eat things like soup, yogurt, pudding, etc. they tend to slide through our pouches and get hungry much quicker, so if you eat things like beans, chili, stew, you are eating things that "stick to your ribs" and make you feel satisfied. He also stated one of the big mistakes that people make is drinking liquid calories and things you tend to eat off a spoon are like that. So after the app't I went out for lunch and at my chili with a fork, and you know what, there was a lot of liquid leftover that would have taken up room in my pouch but instead I got more protein and veggies in there.
I'm thinking I should throw away my spoons but then what would I put in the two slots in the cutlery tray....lololol
Have a great day everyone, it's going to be a nice weekend, go out and enjoy the sun.

I think that is a wonderful tip - it's a good way to put things in perspective. I try to stay away from the puddings and the sliders, though it is hard sometimes.
