My 'hot' date.....
How does that expression go--'Life happens when you don't expect it'?? Something like that anyway. As recommended, I will just enjoy the companionship and his life experiences. Sergio was a professional 'interior designer'--probably can get good ideas! And he is just a really nice guy.
Maybe underneath it all, I am afraid of getting close to someone who had cancer, that I will have to become caregiver in another hopeless situation.
But it IS nice to be thought of in 'that way'.

Sounds like a fun time! it's so nice to have someone " no pressure" to just hang out and have fun with! Enjoy it! And coconut shrimp sure does sound good! I might have to have some of that soon? Anyone make it at home before?
As for you having two left feet..I hear ya girl. I can't dance to save my behind hehe

Thanks, Natalie! The evening was wonderful--no expectations, no pressure, just dancing--although he was warned to wear steel-toed shoes! Even with getting his toes stepped on, Sergio is willing to do it again! But geez, I felt like a klutz! I can't be graceful on the dance floor with choreographed-typed dancing. My 2 left feet just won't let me be cool.
I'll bet the coconut shrimp would be easy to do. Have you checked Eggface's site here on OH? I think I will do that myself when I'm finished here!
And you're looking awesome, Natalie! WTG with working your tool!

Kristy, you're a brat!
I was holding off just to tease you into thinking it turned out to be an overnighter and thus couldn't get to a 'puter. HA! Truthfully, I just couldn't get access to the computer until last night. My BIL was doing some kind of computer work--saving work by zipping files to put on the hard drive--or something like that.
I really dunno!
I'm psychoanalyzing myself about my headspace re: age and the cancer thing. Maybe I'm afraid of this relationship turning into love and then having his cancer return and me having to assume the caregiver role in a hopeless situation?? That's what happened with my husband. ONE DAY AT A TIME....
On a lighter note--Oro Valley is indeed nice! It has a mountains on the east(??) side that are really craggy---volcanic in origin. And desert everywhere! The only time you see green grass is at golf courses! This is just sooo NOT Minnesota or Thunder Bay---especially the weather!! I'm also learning the differences between 'assisted living', 'retirement homes', 'nursing homes', 'increased medical care homes', etc. etc.
You're looking awesome GF!! Aren't you GLAD you overcame your fears and had WLS done??

I can totally see why you might be fearful of the relationship getting serious and then losing him. One date at a time, how about that?
You made a good point about the different types of living arrangements, now that you say that I don't know what my uncle is in exactly. I know he can have some meals there, but lives on his own and I dont think he gets nursing care or anything. Next Christmas I might call on you for some suggestions on where a good place to eat in Oro is and get him a gift cert. I saw on line there is a new movie theater there so I got him some tickets there for Christmas.
And yes, I'm glad I didn't have a 2nd panic attack and the surgery is over and done with. Very happy with the results this far. Thanks for the compliment. BIG HUG!!

One DATE at a time sounds reasonable! No commitments, no ties...just a dancing partner (to start).
It sounds like what we in Thunder Bay call an 'assisted living'. Meals are provided, along with housekeeping. Other services can be added as required--bathing assistance, medication dispursement, etc.
The new Walmart SuperStore complex opened last year,(called the 'Oro Valley Market Place') much to the chagrin of the Oro Valley residents. The people here are not the type to do their shopping at Walmart in the first place! Somehow the expression 'There goes the neighbourhood' seems to fit. There have been more break-ins and assaults in the area since the store opened. (Obviously attracting 'riffraff' to the area....)
I'm so happy for you that you had the RNY done! I was watching your pre-surgery excitement--and am still watching your wonderful post-op metamorphasis!! WTG!
