how did/do you remeber to drink and eat 30 min apart?
I think it helps to eat as much as possible at the same time every day. That will be hard right after surgery, but as time goes on and you start eating solids again, it becomes easier. I'm definately good about not drinking 30 min after, but need to work on watching the water before I eat.

In the beginning, it was pretty easy, as I could only have liquids. As I added solids, I made a concious effort to not drink anything for 30 minutes, then ate. I would also set my computer alarm to go off at 11 a.m., knowing that I couldn't drink for 30 minutes, since lunch was at 11:30. Even now, I seldom get a drink at a restaurant, because I know that if it there, I will drink it. 2 years out and I don't have a beverage on the table when I am eating.
After a while, it becomes old hat.
After a while, it becomes old hat.
I try to eat at the same time every day, give or take a 1/2 hr.
So around 10:00 I decide if I am going to eat at noon or 12:30, then stop 1/2 hr before that. I take my water bottle off my desk and fill it up and put it back in the frig. After I eat; I know exactly the time I can go back in the frig to go get the water. I do the same thing at home. It takes a conscious effort, that works for me. Good Luck
