please help with exercise,i have bad knees and feet

hi i am in big need of help.i was told this week that i need to lose 50 pounds to have the surgery.i am hoping to have it around june or july.i weigh 476 pounds and have bad knees and feet.amoung some other problems.i REALLY want and need to lose this weight.any help i will really appreciate it! please help.thank you in advance.

Have you tried an eliptical machine? I have bad knees and feet to but I can use the eliptical, I am up to 16 minutes at a time now. Start out for just 5 minutes and work your way up it's a great workout.
Free hand weights would also be good for you.

My physical therapist told me that at my starting weight - 304.5... it took only about 6 minutes of moderate walking to get my heart rate up... so you don't really need to overdo it. Just take a moderate walk around the block, part in the back of the lot... try a stationary bike or an arm machine where you rotate it like a bike... take it easy and watch your intake and it should really work towards a healthier weight.

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

Try water aerobics.  Your local YMCA will have free classes offered several different days & time.  I love water aerobics and my knees don't bother me afterwords, plus you burn a lot of calories!

I was also going to suggest swimming if you have access to a pool and are comfortable doing that.  It is great exercise.
