Simple Beer Bread Recipe....
I came up with this idea based on finding flavored beer.  The beers pictured below are available at Trader Joes...and you can buy just one if you want.  They are really good on their own, but they make really good bread.  Don't waste money on a beer bread mix, make your own.  It's super easy and you will impress your family by pulling this bread out of your oven.

Apricot or Blueberry Beer Bread
For Apricot, open a can of apricots in a lite syrup...don't use the heavy kind.  Drain.  Take the apricots and dice them.  Put them in a medium sized mixing bowl.  For Blueberry....use fresh blueberries, like about 2 cups worth.

Add 3 cups Self Rising Flour
Add 1/2 cup sugar
Add 1 bottle of beer (Apricot or Blueberry as seen below)
MIx until flour is folded in.

Place into a greased or sprayed bread pan
At this point I drizzel melted butter (like 2 tbls) over the top of the batter, but that is optional

Bake for 55 min at 375.

After cooled, slice it, then spread it with a lite creme cheese and a jelly of the same bread flavor.  You can use sugar free jelly and no creme cheese...how you eat it is optional but even if you've never made bread, this is very easy.

If you think why don't I just use fresh apricots....you can try but blanch them first and understand that they will be very very tart, so jelly on top before you eat it will be necessary.

I'm looking for other flavors to try, so if you see a good fruit laden beer, let me know.

Enjoy

Wow, both breads sound REALLY good!

I just went to Trader Joe's in SLP for the very first time yesterday and was shocked at how teeny their parking lot was.  I wish there was a store further south (with a bigger lot) because I would probably shop there pretty often.

I have a very, very easy fix 4 YOU.  Make a plan to have coffee with us M-Grovers some Sat.....then, after coffee, go to the MG T-Joes which is about 5 blocks away from Byerly's.  And the parking lot is huge!

I'll even go over there with you if you want.

What say you to that...

Anyone and Everyone is welcome.  I'll even lead you over to Sun Foods if you really would like an adventure.

Nice!  Can you make this in your breadmaker?  If so, I'll spin up a loaf for my family next weekend I am back from Seattle.

Don't know.  I don't have one.  It's a quick bread, so if you have instructions for that...but it's so easy just to combine the things and throug it in an oven.

Oh, and if bread is a problem for you in general, and you don't have a problem with toasted bread, let me tell you....this stuff makes INCREDIBLE toast.

Well goodness!  I think even I could handle THAT recipe!  Thanks, Paul!

(I wonder if it'd work with white merlot???  )
