New to the MN Forum

 Hi - I'm not a newbie to the OH forums, but this is my first post on the MN one.  I've been having trouble with the drop down menu.  As soon as I try to click on Minnesota, the drop down flies up! Guess I should bookmark it.  Anyway, I was wondering if there was a support group in or close to Bloomington.  I had my surgery done at Methodist Hospital and having gotten a thing about support groups there.  I think it would be great fun to have coffee with other OH members.  Thanks for the info!

We have informal support coffee meetings in the southern metro - on Saturday mornings.  This week it is in Burnsville at the Panera near Bursville Center. Around 830ish.

We meet every other week at Burnsville and the other week we meet at the Caribou inside the Byerly's on Yankee Doodle in Eagan.

I think there are some other coffees in West St. Paul - on the Burnsville week but I am unsure the location - someone will post I am sure.

If you attend the PNC support group meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, a bunch of us meet at the Dunn Bros. coffee shop @ 5pm.  It's about 2-3 blocks east of the clinic, on the south side of Excelsior Blvd.  If you come, you won't be able to miss us!!  (In fact, we may have to move to a bigger coffee shop in the area!)

Welcome fellow bandster! Though not close to Bloomington, we meet for coffee in Maple Grove every other Saturday morning.... there's usually a big group and one or two bandsters.

Besides that.. there's the PNC group Darla mentioned... would be nice to have more bandsters than just a few of us. :)

Otherwise... Unity Hospital has band support group every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 5:45 in Fridley. I actually just went to my first one today and it was great. Unfortunately PNC canceled their band support group. :(

Also... the Unity bandsters meet for coffee in Coon Rapids every Sunday night at... 6 or 6:30? One of them might post about it in a reply to you... I forget the time. I went once so far and loved learning from other band patients!! It's worth the ride in my opinion.

Welcome to the MN Forum!!  This has been a GREAT place for me to meet other people in the Twin Cities (and Greater Minnesota) who are also on the WLS journey!

Beyond the coffee groups mentioned by others we also meet in Eagan every other week at the Caribou in Byerly's at Yankee Doodle and 35E.  There is also every other week in Burnsville or West St. Paul.  You are more than welcome to join us!!  Watch the board on Thursday or Friday to see where each week's groups are meeting.

To expand a little bit on what Elena posted - we have a lap band group that meets every Sunday at 6:30 pm at the Starbucks on Foley Blvd just off of Hwy 10. I also go to the Abbott Lap Band support meetings which meet the 2nd Monday of the month and several of us go to the Sheraton afterwards for coffee (or whatever...) Can't get too much support!
