Just wondering (for anyone that had their surgery done in Duluth) about how long after your insurance approved did it take to get your actual surgery date? I know they said to allow a couple months but just curious anyway :) (Im so excited that im this close FINALLY!) lol

Well, for me since I actually had my surgery in SMDC in Superior, WI because they do the RNY surgeries at the Duluth location and the lap-band in Superior. I was approved for surgery in August of 2008, was called the beginning of October for a surgery date and had surgery on October 17, 2008. The care that I had at Superior SMDC was excellent, staff was wonderful and put up with me great. I have Health Partners insurance and it took me a year and a half to get to surgery, from the initial start up WLS presentation to rolling into surgery. I too was constantly calling the insurance company, keeping them updated with appointments because I didn't want to catch a snag at the end, and with the exception of one small bump that took five mintues to fix, everything for me was smooth sailing, so I was VERY lucky about that.
I am now four month post surgery and down 40lbs. I am extremely happy that I have had this surgery and would do it over again in a heartbeat. I have had five fills and I think I am close to hitting that "sweet spot".

Any questions-please don't hesitate to ask me :)
