New Avatar & post hyst eating issues...

It will be two weeks tomorrow since my hysterectomy.  One thing thats happened that I didn't expect is that I'm having issues eating protein.  NOTHING tastes the same.  Protein, pretty much of any kind makes me gag.  I've been doing shakes to make up for it, but I'm hoping my "taste" comes back soon.

I did stop smoking prior to the surgery (about 3 weeks) so that may be making a difference to my "taste" too.

can I just say you are GORGEOUS!!!  and yes, I think that part of the taste thing is your quitting smoking, but more, I think it is the anesthesia from the surgery-there must be something in those drugs that messes up the taste buds, just like after WLS.  that's my humble opinion, and I am stickin' too it......

Hi - I am 4 weeks post hysterectomy & cystocele repair.  The only food issues I have had is that I am not hungry & have lost 14 pounds since Jan 27th (2 days before surgery)  (YAY!) Sorry I can't help, but I sure like not being hungry cause I was over-eating!
