My new goal

I've set a new goal. I'm planning on running a 5k by the end of the summer. My trainer says it is totally achievable. At the latest, I am going to run one of the 5ks they have on Thanksgiving morning.

I told my dad and he said, "yeah, we'll see" and boy that made me angry. I know he said it because I have never ever been athletic. But that doesn't mean I can't be.

If any one is interested in joining me in my goal, let me know!

The " yeah, we'll see" would drive me to want to do this also!
I am tempted to say " count me in" but I have never ran more than 30 seconds in my life!

Good luck on your new goal!!!

I think  a 5K is a great goal, good for you!  Sorry your dad wasn't more supportive, I'd be pissed at a comment like that from my parents.  I hope you were able to share with him that it hurt your feeling and maybe he'll be more supportive next time.

Hey Anna!! Way to go!! I have a Womens race called Women Run the Cities. I am on the planning committee. We do trainings on Tuesday starting soon and its a first run for probably 1/2 the women in it. 2000 women. We hold it at Minnehaha Sept 27th. Would love to get a group together from OH to run/walk it.

You go Girl!!!  You set the best goals!!  I would offer to do it with you, but running is out of the question for me with my ankles, and I wouldn't want to hold you back.

I'm sorry that your dad wasn't as supportive as you would have liked him to be.  At tge same time I am sure he will be very proud of you when you run that race.

Enjoy and I know you will be successful!!

I set this goal too and did it in Nov!! I walked the whole thing, but still! It was a huge accomplishment! You'll love it!
