I am WORTH it!!

While I'm on the topic of head games... I have been reading a ton of articles about why people don't exercise. I am really trying to get to the bottom of why I am so hesitant to do it every day. One thing I came upon is that people who are somewhat disorganized often sacrifice exercise FIRST.

So I realized that I need to remember that I am WORTH IT. I thought about it and realized that I DO indeed have a half hour free every day (I spend at LEAST tha****ching Forensic Files every night!!)... so from now on, I am WORTH that half hour. That half hour is MINE... for my health!

Changing my mindset has made all the difference!!

Sadly, I can honestly say I do NOT have a half hour free every day!  I'm not inclined to get up any earlier than I already do.  Most evenings are non-stop cooking, cleaning, running errands, helping with homework, laundry, you name it.  By the time the kids are in bed, I have nothing left.  I have tried to do the Gazelle at least a few times a week, but sometimes even that's a stretch.

wah, wah, wah.... I know.  Excuses, excuses.  But seriously, don't I deserve a little time to stare at the walls, process it all and maybe short out a bit, too?

The nice thing I realized is that I can zone out at the wall and process it all while exercising. I don't have to do much... just maybe take a relaxing walk like RP. I sure as heck can't walk 4-5 miles like he can, but maybe 1/4 a mile to start? We'll see...

We are all WORTH it!!  I have also learned that I physically feel better on the days that I get up and move before I come to school.  It tends to clear the cobwebs out of my brain.

I know that there are people *****ally are too busy with life to have a set time daily, and I respect that.  My hope for them is that they can carve out some time during the day (even 5 or 10 minutes) to move and get the endorphins going.

If you would have asked me 8 months ago about regular exercise I would have looked at you and laughed hysterically!!  Do I like getting up that early in the morning?  Not at all.  Do I like going to bed by 9:00 each night (at least that is the goal)- Not at all.  But do I feel better all day when I have moved- I sure do!!  I have to admit that much of my motivation comes from the people at the gym I work out at- they make me laugh and smile and tend to be quite generous with the compliments too!!

Just remember to do what works for you and the people in your life!
