Had surgeon consult and got to try some pre and post surgery food.

I had my surgeon consult. The surgeon said that the insurance would be stupid not to approve of the surgery. He submitted it today. Now the waiting game. I also had a group meeting with a dietician. We got to try the opti-fast--which I will have to be on for 2 weeks. Might be a long 2 weeks. Then we tried the frozen pureed dinners. The potatoes and squash were ok--but the meat was undescibable. But I can do anything for a week.

The waiting game is perhaps the worst part of it all!! Keep your eyes on the prize and it will be here before you know it!

Since you are one of my friends, it showed me your post so I wanted to respond.  The waiting in the hardest part of this whole process.  My husband and son are both wanting to have WLS and went through everything together.  Low and behold, hubby was approved and son wasn't.  Go figure.  Son told his Dad to go ahead and have his done now while he can and we are continuing to fight for son's approval.  I'll say a little prayer that things go smoothly for you.  Best of luck.

Congrats on making it to this point, I hope you get approved quickly.  Who is your surgeon? Nice that they let you try the Optifast and frozen purees. Who makes those?
