I think 'adaptive' cooking is a big part of the success a lot of us have. Most of us are no Eggface... but we can still rock a recipe!

I never used to cook... but had to learn for my health. It's so much fun now (did I really just say that?) and I found a great article on that topic:
10 Tips for Fast Cooking

So what are you eating today or what DID you eat today? If you don't plan your meals ahead, tell us what you ate today... it gives newbies an idea of how post-ops eat day-to-day!

Me?

B: Yogurt w/ flaxseed and a few prunes (thanks to Darla, I found some YUMMY ones!)
S: Skinny latte
L: Hot dog, raw veggies
S: Fudgesicle
D: I had 2 cabbage rolls for dinner yesterday...yum!! This time around... I will do the low-carb chicken recipe I think.

Day 3 of 14 day pre-op liquid diet . . .

after workout: protein drink, 4oz  juice
B: cream of wheat w/ skim milk, cinnamon & splenda
L: 1C tomato soup, protein drink, applesauce
D: 1C broth, protein drink, pudding
And, of course, lots of water.  I've never peed so often in my life!

I've never noticed before how food is everywhere I look - walking down the street, reading the paper, watching TV, even riding the bus.   I'm trying not to go crazy, but it's really hard!!  People say that it will get better so I'm hanging on . . .

PS - Thanks for the support Elena!!

For some people, the liquid diet is hell... but I looked at it as a time to get  "in tune" with myself. I no longer has food to entertain me... it's almost like when monks fast lol.... it makes you realize the important things in life and makes you realize how important food has become to you.

That's a perfect way to look at it!  I'm always trying to look inward and this is a perfect time for it.  Also, that reminds me that I haven't been meditating - that would help.

I can do this!
