Why can't I be strong???

I am so mad & frustrated with myself right now!  I do so good during the day, I eat the recommended amounts and protein first.  I track/journal what I eat and even plan it out the night before.  However, in the evening I go down hill.  Like tonight, people at work brought in spinach dip, crackers, cheese, meats, and M&M's.  well, before you know it 1 little taste has turned into several big samples.  I'm not stuffed or sick, just sick with myself.  When will I learn & be strong??

Getting a few more fills will definitely help... or getting to your sweet spot anyway. I had the same problem about a two months ago - I would overeat at night until I was absolutely stuffed.

What helped? Time... and a lot of thinking about WHY I was eating at night. It turned out that I was bored... things were slower and I just wanted some entertainment.

So now... I eat a big lunch instead of a big dinner... and make dinner my lunch. I also started exercising at night and in the morning and that has significantly helped my dinner issue. Also... I measure my dinner because I just don't seem to have much control over myself when I don't.

Bandsters typically losen up at night so you are not alone. You just need to make a strategy for this challenge and use it daily.

My band does seem to be looser in the evening compared to in the morning or at lunchtime.  I never really noticed that or realized it.  I will have to adjust my meals & eating times, that should help.  I know I need some more fills.  I go in for another fill Wednesday.  So far I have 6 cc's in a 10 cc band.  I'm hoping that I'm close to my sweat spot.  Thanks for the encouragement & support!

It happens and it is totally normal.  It is so hard when you are used to eating a certain way and then to stop.  Little bits are not bad just keep track and I think you are doing great..........

Thank you for your words of support.  I have decided to not even try just a little taste anymore, for me it's all or nothing.  Once I try a little, I figure that I already messed up so why not have a little more?  well, we all know how that turns out!

You are still relatively new in this band life. And it does take patience, especially, in the beginning. Evenings are my worst time too. Try to go for more liquids - hot chocolate, sf apple cider - something that really tastes good, but doesn't up the calorie count too much. Another fill will hopefully help you out. You are changing habits of a lifetime, and that's not going to magically happen, just because you have a band around your stomach. We often joke that we wish we could have a band around our brain. But, no such luck. Hang in there, and keep doing the best you can until you get some good restriction.
