for future refrence, what kind of drinks and foods do you buy-special for protien, etc..
I am syill on my journey going thru the process for WLS, but I want to know more about what Vitiamins, foods, drinks, etc that each of you use noe since surgery and what you recommend. I have looked at Protien bars but they seem to have a lot of Fat or sugar, and I heard people drink Boost or carnation instant breakfast, etc... any info would be great I am still learning more about what to eat/drink after surgery.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Many people will tell you that your tastes change. Not to "stock up " on alot of things. I agree with that completely. I bought some stuff 4 years ago that I never did use. Water, flavors for water, a tongue scraper, good tasting toothpaste, 1 or 2 of different things to try. Your taste really changes because of the anesthesia first and then as the hormones are released from the fat cells, it leaves this YUCKY TASTING FILM on your tongue. That makes taste difficult.
Trial and error, like and dislike are all subjective, what I like you may hate.
Your vitamins and such should be listed in your booklet provided by your surgeon's office. Alot of people buy from Vitalady.com (I think) she had the surgery asn is very knowledgeable. Others get them at sam's club walmart, wherever. Again, trial and error, buy a little to see what you like.
I hope this helps,
Karen

ONE
session at a time is all I can do, multitasking is a fine art that I am still trying to master.

Hi...karen is right...every surgdeon requires different things.
I use Twin Labs Calcium Citrate.
I don't like any of the protein mixes so if I need a quick shake I still drink Boost High Protein Drink. This is what my surgeon had us take on our pre op liquid diet and right after surgery.I use the Glucose contol kind now because there is too much sugar in the regular Boost.
As for protein Bars like like Pure Protein the best. You can buy them at Walmart, Target etc.. They only have 2 grams of sugar and have 20 grams of protein.
I am sure your surgeon will give you suggestions of the products they prefer.
