I love my band - healthier me, healthier family!

                               I my band!!

Without it... I would not be at the lowest weight ever enjoying everything that life has to offer that was once out of reach for me!

Skiing was something I always wanted to do... but at 300lbs I could not fit into any ski boots nor could I handle the intensity you need to ski well.

I am with my whole family (this hasn't happened in more than a decade b/c my dad lives overseas) skiing in Colorado.
I just realized that I am probably the most fit in my family... not that that should be hard being that I'm the youngest, but I was always the LEAST FIT.

My 62-year-old dad really got into skiing this year because he needed exercise for his heart issues. Now because I can actually handle skiing, I went overseas to ski with him earlier this year. NOW, we got my mom AND older sister on board to ski too -- absolutely UNREAL for our family!!

I just feel like this band has not only changed my life... it has made my family healthier. Here's a picture of the four of us on the slopes (from left to right...  and for some reason by height, lol: Dad, me, sis, mom

Congratulations on your success!!  You have done such a GREAT job with your band- and have become an inspiration and advocate for all of us on this WLS journey.

How exciting to be with your WHOLE family- I didn't realize your dad had come to the states to ski with all of the great women in his life!!  I am always amazed when families travel together in this way.

Sounds like you're having a great time.  I love the photo.  You've worked so hard and should be very proud of your accomplishments you little snow bunny.

Elena!!!  I am so proud of you!  It is so awesome to be able to reach such an important and pivotal goal.  You know, the main reason I had this surgery was to be able to participate in life and you, my friend are doing just that.  It is amazing how much we can do without the extra weight.  YEAH!!

Elena...you are amazing!! Congrats on your success!!

That's BEYOND cool, sweets!  You are definitely the poster child (age reference there...) for WLS, and the band in particular.

But - uh... next time?  YA'LL NEED TO TAKE OFF THE GOOGLES!

It's amazing the extra's we find in our lives since we've lost weight....we expect the usual stuff....more healthy, less meds....to when it brings a family together also....that's awesome!!  I'm glad you enjoy the slopes and can do so with your family!
