WED: Exercising for parents!
I thought it would be fun to post some ideas for those that have kids... I know that it can be really hard to get out there and move!
Infant through pre-school
--Fit in exercise time while they are napping. Try a home exercise video, walking or jogging (if you have a treadmill), jumping rope.
--Occupy them for even 15 minutes with a video or toy while you do some toning exercises like squats and tricep dips.
--Grab your stroller and go for a brisk walk. Or, buy a jogging stroller for more flexibility.
Grade School
--Try rollerblading or skating together.
--Play catch with a ball or get a small group together for a kickball or softball game.
--Make Saturdays family bike outing day.
Teenagers
--Register for a fun run (or walk) event and spend time together training for the event.
--Purchase a family gym membership and workout together weekly.
--Play tennis or basketball together.
I didn't want to post the FULL LIST here because it would be too long, so if you want to see it, go here: Tips For Exercising With Kids
So how are you moving today??
Me? 3-4 hours of skiing in the morning, and 2-3 more hours at night
Elena-
I have been watching your exercise ticker go down, down, down!! You are doing a FABULOUS job on getting your body moving this month. Especially coming off of your injury.
I am off to the gym this morning. They are playing e"Exercise Bingo" for the next 3 weeks, which helps motivate me even a little more to be there 6 days per week. I am learning how to manage my time there a little bit better- making sure I have time for strength training too. For some reason I don't like lifting as much as I enjoy the cardio workout. I do know it is necessary to build muscle and keep my metabolism going.
How many people do 2 workouts per day? I am considering going for a walk on the treadmill in the evening. We will see if that happens.
Make it a GREAT day today- even if it is cold!
