A lot depends on the surgery you are going to have. I had the lap-band and am revising to the RNY and I know the foods are a little different. I do not believe I was allowed to have fruit juice. Sugar free/low fat...

Protein powder is all to your own taste and believe me EVERYBODY is different and most have tried several before they found the one for them. Some even say their taste changes after surgery...I have been told to get sample sizes before committing to a big can. I am still using the one I did before, hope I do not need to change. Have you gone to the Fairview WLS website??

It doesn't have a lot, but it does have the post-op diet.

I had a lot of the same stuff you have above. The only things I would add would be eggs and protein powder that you can add to the milk and pudding.

I like the click protein. But, prior to that I was using the Wheybolic 60 from GNC. They have a variety of flavors and there is 60 grams of protein in one serving. They are pretty good. I also had alot of the No sugar added instant carnation breakfast drink. I like to warm it up like hot chocolate.

Good luck to you!

Believe it or not, I don't recall how long each stage was, but in the "full liquid stage" I think you can have creamed soups.  If you go to Valley Natural foods or Trader Joe's they'll have a better variety.  For pureed stage, I used Bean w/ Bacon soup and split pea w/ ham and put it through the food processor. Lots of protein per serving, I think 10G or so.  Idahoan instant potatoes come in lots of good varietys, I always made mine with milk intead of water, and added a scoop of Unjury UNFLAVORED protein powder.  Great way to get protein since the potatos hardly have any.  I had refried beans alot with melted cheese and sour cream. Forget if that's pureed or soft stage.  Scrambled eggs w/ cheese. Lots of people have a hard time with eggs, but I didn't.  check out this web site, she has some good ideas:

I tried the baked ricotta from this site, it was good. Nice change.

Don't forget your first focus right out of surgery will be to get your liquids in. If you have a hard time with water, I totally suggest unsweetened apple juice, diluted with water. It saved me after I came home to be honest. I couldn't handle water but for some reason, the diluted apple juice stayed down just fine. You may want to have a bottle of that on hand just in case.

And you have broths listed above. There are one's in the grocery stores that is more of a paste consistency. One specific brand is Better than Boullion. It is delicious! Very potent so a little goes a long way. But the taste is so wonderful.
