Did you need these items Post-OP??? and More ???'s
· Looking thru OH list's for Pre-op and Post-Op and was suprised to read these things:
* Sanitary napkins (a lot of women will start their cycle right after surgery)
· * Get some type of long wooden spoon or something you can wrap toilet tissue around. If that doesn't work, get a family member to help wipe.
*For those of you that don't have a shower seat, purchase one if possible.

- Food processor or magic bullet to blend the food - Can you just use a blender?
1. Sanitary napkins....yep, I needed them. Wasn't a big deal, I used the icky ones the hospital had since they wouldn't let me use tampons because of the catheter. And yes, the cath hurt a bit coming out but it was quick. You're out when it goes in so no biggie!
2. Don't do the spoon thing. I had to ask a nurse to help ONCE. That's what they are there for. At home I was fine.
3. I never needed a shower chair either in the hospital or at home.
4. All I ever used was a blender.
5. Don't worry about the intubation - you'll be out when it happens!
Good Luck! - You'll do great!

It's better to be imperfectly happy than perfectly unhappy.
I did not need Sanitary Napkins it took a while for me before I had my period.
The spoon I did not need that either. I recall seeing that before surgery and thought that was odd. But, nope I did not need it.
I do not have a shower seat but taking a shower was not an issue. It was a little difficult to bend to shave my legs but really not a big issues.
Magic bullet I bought one and maybe used it once. So people love it! I'm sure a blender would work just fine.
I did not have any problems being intubated. It is scary but, I do not remember any part of that. So I guess not knowing and remember it is best.
Best wishes to you!!
