Thanks guys.  Last night I went to Cub to grab some "Lean" meat. Just Fish and Chicken actually.  I looked at the serving size and every piece of meat was 4 oz.  Perfect.

Also I was looking at Iron Chef last night (Japan) and 99.9% of the time I would not eat that ish, but it sho was looking good to me.....

Then Bobby Flay's Throwdown came on and the dish was Chesse Grits and Shrimp. I almost jumped in the TV.

I'm only on Day 3, but I can feel a difference already.

3 days already...you're doing fantastic!  And everyone is right, the first 3 are the hardest, after that it does get easier, but like Darla said, you begin to realize just how much food porn (in the way of commercials) is out there. Never noticed it until I couldn't have it.  I can't imagine doing 6 weeks, that does seem like a long time...but trust me in a week it will be my two year surgiversary and I wish I could start it all over again. The two years went by in a heart beat and I'm no where near where I would like to be. Take advantage of this time fully and follow the rules to a "T" because once you take one little step down that hill it becomes a boulder going down the mountain and I can't tell you how hard it is to roll that rock back up the hill!

Good luck Juice!  You'll do just fine!

Yeah it was really bad for me too! I would find myself walking by something my hubby was going to eat and would reach out and lick it just to get the taste. I know freaky right!

It does get easier, like that helps. But you do get used to it. I just ignored everyone at home eating ( passive/aggressive ole me) lol
I have a 13yr old diabetic that I have to prepare meals(The big one can cook for himself) for and I had to keep my composure and not sample the food, talk about self control or insanity.
Well good luck on this,

Good luck Juice..you can do this! It will get easier each day!
The secretary where I work eats oranges for lunch all the time, and I remember walking past her desk and I felt like I was walking through an orange grove. It was aweful! I wanted to jump over her desk and shove the whole thing in my  mouth!  It got easier and once you are into it a few days, your mind is only on the task at hand. I would not have cheated for ANYTHING by then.
 I like the vicks suggestion!
