BBQ/Horsey Day????

Howdy,

Last year I hosted a BBQ/Horsey Day at my mini hobby farm!!!  We had a pretty good turn out last time and I enjoyed hosting it and would be interested in doing it again if there is an interest?????

Last year I bbq'd the mean and everything else was pot luck...we spent the day riding horse, riding 4 wheelers and just visiting, maybe this year we could have it later in the afternoon and have a bonfire too?!!?

So let me know if this is something you would be interested in doing again...and if so when should we plan it for?  Wait till May and pray its a little warmer??  or want to shoot for April??

Is this open to everyone or by invitation only?

Open to anyone that wants to come...I would just need to know how many would be coming, so I know how much meat to get for BBQ.

That was a great time last year!  I know Trav would LOVE to bring the 4-wheelers up again! 

Here's my thought as far as when...  BEFORE THE GNATS EXPLODE!!! 

How fun to get to meet Joey?!  Have you been riding over the winter?  We haven't seen much of you, GF!!

I know ya havent saw much of me...sorry!!!  Things have been extremely hectic, with hubby being a trucker and not home much, it left me a busy gal, not much free time.

I wasnt able to do any riding this winter...but I rode Joey last weekend and saddled up Zoie Monday night and Levi and I rode her for a bit.

Roanie leaves for training next weekend...so we are starting to gear up for show season already!!!  YEA

I agree we should do it before knat season...they are HORRIBLE at my place :(

I'd love to come if only to pet and/or brush the horses. I need a fix of that wonderful horse smell. Haven't gotten a whif in sometime, love that scent!  Am I the only one?

 OMG! This is sooooo weird! I just talked to a friend this morning who told me i should make plans to go see her in NC and spend a day or two horseback riding a couple months after surgery! I miss it sooooooooooooooo much and can't wait to do it again. This sounds like so much fun and I'm not one to turn down a bonfire either! Doesn't help my husband is a pyro, but that's another story. 
If there was a great turn out last year, it'd be fun to do again. It'd be a great way to get to meet people and a good reason to bring the hubby along.

When I hear BBQ/Horsey Day I get nice flashbacks of my Philly childhood when we have Cookouts (BBQ's in the hood) and the all the girls would have weave in their hair....they all looked like Horses.  Hence....

I would love to ride a horse.  I'm sort of afraid of them, but maybe this would help get over my fear.  And 4 wheelers...oh yeah...love them!

Would love to, Jodi! My vote would be for May, perhaps not as muddy then?
