Long Time No See....
It was great to see everyone this morning (Eagan) even though it was so brief! I was just hoping people were going to still be there by the time I got there! Didn't know I was going to be hijacked to go shopping! How could a girl pass that up, right?! Sorry it was cut so short. Olivia is fine - she did dislocate her elbow, but is back to her old self! Crazy chic!
Sorry it's been a while since I have had a post. Life just gets a little crazy and before you know it, a couple months pass and it only feels like a few weeks. My surgeon's office sent in for authorization at the beginning of February and I was denied. Their reasoning: have not had a bmi of 40 or above for two consecutive years. Plus, I do not have any comorbidities (or at least what they "think" are comorbidities). I worked my tail off on an appeal letter and had my physician write another letter as well. They approved me on Friday the 13th!!! Will definitely be looking at Friday the 13th more positively from now on! I have been scheduled for surgery May 5th. I am elated! Even though I knew I was not going to be approved at first, when I was denied, it really stressed me out and I came down with the worst sinus infection ever! It took me a good two weeks to get back to being 100%. I would have done self pay if I was not approved, but I was extremely concerned if I were to have any complications that that would not be covered as well. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to have this surgery and can not wait to begin this journey. I'm just extremely grateful to be past that hurdle and can just coast until my surgery date.
I hope everyone is doing well. I hear I missed a big coffee in Hopkins
That's what I get for being out of it! Would have been great to meet people in person! Maybe next time. Can't wait to get back in to my Saturday coffee routine! I miss everyone and your support is priceless.
Take care,
Stephanie
