TUES: How are you moving today?
You didn't think a horrible gallbladder attack would stop me from posting the daily threads, did you? Pssh...
It's such a hard thing to do... start moving... but what happens when we are doing it well and then we have a setback? This week is going to be tough for exercise for me because I'll be healing... and I am slightly bummed. I have some fear that my lack of routine exercise will mean I will fall off the 'exercise' bandwagon. But I have to realize... it's just one of the many head games my body plays when it doesn't want to move!
So how are you moving today?
Me? I will walk at the hospital if I feel up for it.

Elena-
May you heal swiftly and with minimal amounts of pain. I totally understand about going back to exercise slowly following unexpected surgery.... I did it twice this winter. I will tell you though, it feels great when you can get back to your routine.
I will head off to the gym in the next 10 minutes (after I finish my oatmeal) for 70 minutes of cardio and maybe a little strength training. Then it is off to schoool to play with my kindergarten students. Never a dull moment with them!! I bought a pedometer yesterday- will see how many steps I actually get in during a day. It should be interesting.
Feel good and keep your chin up!

Ok, either they don't have you on heavy duty pain meds, or you're just sharp as a whip even with them. I'm shocked you're posting the daily exercise and eating threads, and with what seems to be a very CLEAR head. :-)
I plan to do the treadmill a FULL 30 minutes this afternoon. Try to kick things up a notch.

Elena,
Yesterday I made it back to the gym after surgery and it felt GREAT because it made me feel normal again instead of like a sick person. Maybe it can do the same for you so you don't "fall off the exercise bandwagon".
I ran into my trainer today at the gym (usually I don't see her unless I make an appt because I'm there so early). I told her that I'm nervous about getting back to strength training since surgery and she showed me a bunch of things I can do for a week or two until I feel more comfortable to get back to my normal routine. Heather's the best!!
Today:
30 min on the treadmill (I've noticed I can walk a little faster now that I've lost a bit)
20 min strength training - Yeah!
