Water and Newly Post-op

I'm a week post-op and doing well.  When I was in the hospital, they taught me to sip small amounts of water.  I'm a big water drinker pre-op.  So I've been taking bigger sips.  I don't feel a fullness or tighness.  Sometimes I wonder if by taking too big of sips I've stretched my pouch already.  When I eat cream soup, I can feel the fullness after a little while.  Is it just tha****er moves through much easier?  Thanks, Dolly

I worried about that too right out of surgery. But I can put the water away. Gulps even, and it doesnt bother me. And I can tell you it never stretched my pouch! I know some people can drink lots and some struggle to get it down. I was told as long as it did not cause discomfort that it was ok to keep drinking

Being able to take big sips is a good thing. You will be able to get in all your water. Many after surgery find getting all their water in hard. You will not stretch your pouch with water.
